I have a tendency to read two or more books at a time,(one on the coffe table, one for the bathtub, etc.) Am I alone in this habit? If not, whatcha got on the nightstand?

Ditto. I have one fiction & one non fiction going at the same time. Now I'm on "Eclipse" by Stephanie Myers- fiction...and non fiction .."Ten Degrees of Reckoning"- Hector Rumberg. I read at least 6-8 books a month.

Have just finished 2 of Obamba's books and starting on the third.
'Dreams from My Father' is about where he came from and in 'The Audacity of Hope' he talks about the direction he would like to see the country going. A preview of things to come.

Just finished Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. After I read the book, I went to see the movie. Both were pretty good.

Also working on Orson Scott Card's Memory of Earth series.

Just finished Dark Prince by Christine Feehan, but didn't like that one as much as Twilight.

Quoting jammer2:

A tip for those of us that remember Vietnam and the craziness...Word of Honor, written by Nelson DeMille. Dave, this book had me doing some serious thinking about what we did in-country...and if we would one day be called to accounts...

Quoting rumplestilskin2010:

]quote[Maya Angelou
Sigmund Freud
2008 Old Farmer's Almanac
2 novels ]quote[

very interesting consortium of reading material...
after reading the farmer's almanac & sigmund freud, you can go into group therapy or a support group and work through why you can't do anything about the weather and that your mother really had noting to do with it. then forget about reading the other two novels because now you've had a breakthrough epiphany about the weather and want to start a new career as a philosophical weatherman on a local cable outlet....thanx to maya angelou...

Weatherman...woman?..no..maybe I could convert my dreams of the tides into poetry...

The Pacific

Water lapping the shore
Hypnotically drawing me into the tide
I feel the coolness on my feet.

Waves in and out
Hypnotically drawing me into the tide
I feel the coolness on my knees.

Roar of the surf
Hypnotically drawing me into the tide
I feel the coolness on my waist.

Never ending expansiveness
Hypnotically drawing me into the tide
I feel the coolness on my breast

Rocking me gently
Hypnotically drawing me into the tide
I feel the coolness on my nose.

One with the universe
Hypnotically drawing me into the tide
I feel no more.

At the moment...
Maya Angelou
Sigmund Freud
2008 Old Farmer's Almanac
2 novels

All piled on the empty side of the bed. Most night I read parts of more than one - start or end with a poem or two.
